USB training: force feedback joystick

Purpose of the Force Feedback Joystick project

This project will guide you in creating a fully functional truly Plug & Play Force Feedback Joystick using a Microchip PIC24GB106 microcontroller. True Plug & Play means no additional drivers are required, just as the OS developers intended.

How great will it look ? What will the Force Feedback Joystick do ?

You will need a proper development platform, so we chose the world's first hydraulic force feedback joystick for that purpose. The manufacturer Paccus Interfaces has generously agreed to pulet us publish the source code of this joystick which you may adapt to your own requirements. (The image may not exactly reflect the product, check the Paccus website for details).

 Hawk Hydraulic Force Feedback Joystick

The Hawk Hydraulic Force Feedback Joystick will let the user experience realistic force feedback (maximum sideways force is 1 kg ! ) and comes with the bootloader and application pre-installed. So you are ready to develop or ready to play, whatever you prefer. All functions are freely programmable through the Configuration dialogs on your OS.

What should I need to know before I start?

Proper knowledge about USB reports and descriptors is required, you should understand how to work with the USB bootloader and a good understanding about the C language is a must.
